Advancing gender equity in Honduras

COMSA co-op located in Marcala, Honduras is deeply rooted in their holistic approach to coffee farming that incorporates the vital energy of the earth, the mentality of their members, and the solar system in which we exist. As their co-op grows and evolves, they continue to stay true to their philosophical values. One way we see this is through their ongoing dedication to gender equity. Their gender committee keeps the organization's gender equity policy updated while also developing and training women through their own Escuela de Liderazgo (Leadership School). Fifty women currently participate in the program gaining knowledge around strategic planning, leadership skills, and emotional, spiritual, and financial intelligence.
