Our chocolate chips are made from only organic cacao from Peru and organic sugar from Paraguay, both grown by small farmer co-ops. They’re manufactured in an allergen-free facility right in Peru. That means a greater percentage of the purchase price stays in the origin country, strengthening the local economy. With a rising demand for Peruvian cacao, the farmer members of APROSAROCH switched their attention from bananas to cacao in 2009. APROSAROCH expects a continued increase in farmer membership since many farmers in the geographic highlands are converting from coffee to cacao due to challenges associated with climate change.

At our Massachusetts HQ, our team batch-roasts coffee daily under a 1,418 panel solar array, bringing out the best flavors of each harvest. At the lighter end of the roast spectrum, we accentuate the unique fruity and floral notes within the beans. As the roast length increases, the natural sugars in the coffee beans caramelize and darken to elicit a richer body. Our darkest roasts fully express the beans’ natural oils, yielding subtle smokiness and flavors akin to dark chocolate. At every level, our expert team creates a smooth, clean, and balanced cup with reliable consistency from batch to batch.

YES
Are the bittersweet chocolate chips gluten free? I see that is is made in a facility that does NOT process wheat, but wanted to check?
We are not certified gluten free so we have chosen not to add this specific language to our labels at this time, but our bar and chip suppliers have procedures in place, including testing, to guarantee that our products meet the FDA gluten-free regulation.
What is the weight of each of the two kinds of chocolate chip packages ?
