Focusing on progress in Nicaragua

The PRODECOOP cooperative organization brings together 38 villages from Esteli, Madriz and Nueva Segovia in northern Nicaragua to collaborate on agricultural extension services, training, marketing, credit, coffee quality programs, and social development projects. Thirty percent of the farmers are women, and through their collective training programs grow to become leaders in their co-op and communities. With a permanent commission on gender, they are learning to frame tough conversations about equity to include everyone in the family, and encouraging members to focus on progress and integration.

At our Massachusetts HQ, our team batch-roasts coffee daily under a 1,418 panel solar array, bringing out the best flavors of each harvest. At the lighter end of the roast spectrum, we accentuate the unique fruity and floral notes within the beans. As the roast length increases, the natural sugars in the coffee beans caramelize and darken to elicit a richer body. Our darkest roasts fully express the beans’ natural oils, yielding subtle smokiness and flavors akin to dark chocolate. At every level, our expert team creates a smooth, clean, and balanced cup with reliable consistency from batch to batch.

is the french roast a low acidity coffee?
Hello, Tracy, we don't mark any of our coffees as low acid because they are all very similar in Ph level (similar Ph to a grain of rice) although many people who are looking for lower acid coffees do choose darker roast coffees, like French Roast. I hope that helps you choose!
